Who would walk 60 miles in 3 days???

My sister, that's who.
And why did she walk 60 miles in three days?
To help raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation to find a cure for breast cancer.
The photo below was taken by Michelle Simpson at the 2009 3-Day in Chicago, IL

To me, walking 20 miles a day for three days in a row doesn't sound like much fun- especially after hearing about all of the foot problems my sister had by the end of the third day. However, my sister is a very tough, very determined person when she sets her mind to something. She is not only walking the 3-Day again next year in 2010, but she is also captaining a team called 'Bras of Glory'. As of right now, Bras of Glory is five people strong with talk of a coulpe of other possible members.

This is what my sister, Michelle has to say about it:

Last year I walked in the Chicago 3-Day. Thanks to everyone who supported me in so many ways. It was such an awesome experience, I'm doing it in San Francisco in 2010 and am Captaining the team Bras of Glory!

Please support me as I take an amazing journey in the fight to end breast cancer! The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds from the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure™ are invested in breast cancer research and community programs.

Bras of Glory has a big goal to reach!!! They are striving to raise $10,000 by October of next year. If you would like to help them reach their goal of raising $10,000, there are several ways to do so. You can donate directly to the Bras of Glory fundraising page at this link:

Meet the Kaspareks

The Kaspareks won a free family portrait session from Chaos Studios Photography at the 2009 UPS golf outing. All of the money raised at the golf outing is donated to the Gilda's Club to help cancer patients and their families.

We were hoping that the weather would cooperate and we would be able to take some nice outside photos with all of the beautiful orange and yellow fall leaves. Unfortunately, it was raining all day when we had the shoot.

We took the photo shoot indoors at the botanical center at Vander Veer Park in Davenport, IA. The tropical plants, windmill, and fish pond were a beautiful backdrop for their portraits.
